The Friendship
----The review of film < Phantom of the Baker Street>
It was in the virtual game named COCOON that the moving story took place. Every scenery they met in the game was just like in the daily lives. They were all children of the same age, but what made differences was that they came from different families, some from politic ones while others from normal families. No sooner had they entered the game, they were informed that their brain would be damaged if there was nobody to win, and the game couldn’t stop for a deliberately-made fetal error.
Two groups started game indifferently to other parties but everything was doomed to change when the boy, Conan Edogawa, saved another boy at the risk of his life from politic family. That’s when they began to fight together and that’s they way in which friendship is usually established. There’s a widely-used analogy going that: Everybody is an angel with a single wing; so one can never fly away only when they are hugging each other. So, we always want others pay more attention to ourselves, both when we are in trouble or not. But, the sad phenomenon is that, when we see strangers in troubles, we are not willing to go toward to offer help because in the society, we think more about us. In this way, our society is becoming colder and colder and the trend is even approaching to the relationship between neighbors. There is an experiment given by an Australia researcher. He was idling around on the streets in Pairs, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo. He acted as if he was lost and wanted someone to help. The result is, it was in Shanghai that he couldn’t get any help; compared with in Paris, he was led to the hotel in 5 min. If the trend can’t be stopped, gradually, the so-called friendship will be confined to interests and we will end in danger because nobody comes to rescue! Regardless of the film, in effect, the eternal friendship can be gained in daily lives. A single smile may be enough.
As the movie went on, more and more player died and their friendship strengthened. Ai Haibara said to Conan that If Sherlock Holmes couldn’t appear, you were our Holmes because there was nothing you couldn’t get through. Trust is always playing an important role in friendship. When Ran Mouri jumped off the cliff, she said to Conan: If death could help save others, it was of course welcome. Friendship seems invaluable because sacrifice. Sacrifice doesn’t necessarily mean death as in the movie, sparing one’s time to help others can also make sense. In the last period of the movie, the ultimate meaning of friendship was given. When Sawada Hiloiki, the boy saved by Conan, and Conan were the only players alive, they helped and supported each other for the same faith that they must act as heroes to save others and even save the future of Japan. The support and faith seemed to form a strongest rope linking them until they solved the problem and won the win-or -death game. So, the faith and support can also help to make friendship stronger.
As soon as friendship formed, we should try our best to extend and strengthen it, it was far more difficult but important. Trust and sacrifice and faith and support are far from enough. It’s the art of communication and action to realize it.
As long as friendship exists, many troubles can be smoothed more easily. Now I want to say that the name of the film means more than the name of the game, in our society, there are many persons making cocoon for themselves so that they seems to be isolated from others and even the whole society. It’s the tragedy given by human nature and the development of society. But shouldn’t we start to realize and solve the problem?

Hunter or Prey
---- Shocked by the movie
In the movie a horrible and bloody scene that human’s endless damage to the environment has called a new kind of death-causing ant awake was given vividly. In South America, the kind of ant left nothing alive wherever they went. Only several seconds, an adult would be turned into a skeleton because the number of it was so huge. Nothing can make sense to stop the crazy ants and save poor human beings except drowned them by reservoir at the cost of a whole city.
In the movie, it was human to cause the catastrophe and it was also human to save the world from the disaster. In reality, it seems that we can never realize the importance of the nature balance until it has been broken and serious result was seen. When the industry first started, we had little idea that it would do damage to the nature, but as time elapsed, more and more species were confronted from extinction and ozonosphere hole was reported and fewer and fewer forests exist in the world and less and less energy is still available.
Facing so many problems, we have made some progress to mend our ways. For example, many countries have set up a series of laws to forbid hunting wild animals and establishing pollution-causing factories in cities and pouring wasted water directly into rivers. But compared with pollute the environment; it’ll take far more time to bring it under control. Also, all the countries should be allied to do the job because any country is impossible to tackle it totally by itself, so many countries have signed the , but America excluded.
America was globally criticized for not taking the responsibility. Asked why, America gave no reply but we can safely guess that economy is the essence reason. But I think facing the contradiction between economy and environment, the latter one should be first considered. All the species in the planet have the same right to exist. The rule of nature gives us right to take other animals as food but such privilege is confined to this. Killing wild animals without discrimination should be banned because it will disturb the biological diversity and normol food chain, which eventually cause more and more animals to die out. Besides, the development of economy and industry mustn’t be thought more than the nature. We can defer the pace of development but how about the nature? The later we decide to rescue means the more damage will be done and the more difficult it will be to do, also the more cost we will take. After all, without the environment, everything we have done nowadays is meaningless.
Some scientists hold the idea that it’s already late to solve the problem perfectly. But better late than never. Although the cost is huge and the time needed is long, we must do it, or the former hunter of nature will be the pray of disaster in the future.
As it was given in the movie, if genetically-changed living things spread globally out of control, human beings will encounter the foreseeable disaster. Unfortunately, human’s action can also accelerate the procedure. If quick action isn’t taken, the last species to extinct is human.
